STEPS for Lymphoma

I'm taking part in Steps for Lymphoma

On 21st February 2024, my husband Jye will finish his final chemo treatment after what has been a very long and stressful journey.

In September 2021, when I was 22 weeks pregnant, we found out Jye had cancer. After an intense 6 months of chemoimmunotherapy, he was declared in remission. Follicular lymphoma, the type of lymphoma that Jye had, is unfortunately not considered curable but rather a chronic disease that is likely to return at some point. So for the last 2 years he has been on maintenance chemo to prolong his time in remission. He has had every side effect under the sun and more. We have navigated living during a pandemic while he has been immunocompromised which has been extremely isolating. And of course we have both been learning how to be parents to our beautiful little boy who was born in the thick of Jye's treatment.

What a journey it has been. We are so excited for this next phase of our lives and can't wait to return to living normally when his immune system recovers from the treatment.

So I'm marking the end of this journey by doing Steps for Lymphoma. I'll be pushing myself to do 10,000 steps a day for the month of March. And hopefully raise some money for this great organisation.

I want to thank everyone for their support over the last few years.

And to my person Jye, I love you and I am so excited for this next phase of our lives together ❤️

I would love if anyone could chuck in a few dollars if you can spare it, it would be great to reach my target!

Read below for more info on Steps for Lymphoma...

Lymphoma Australia is the only organisation in Australia dedicated and committed solely to patients and caregivers dealing with lymphoma and CLL.

This March, alongside a community of like-minded individuals, every step I take contributes to the collective steps for the Lymphoma goal, aiming to complete a loop around Australia. By doing so, we express solidarity with and provide support to Australians facing the challenges of living with Lymphoma.

The extensive journey along the Australian coastline spans a total of 30,400,000 steps. Each step I take this March brings us closer to achieving the overarching goal. I invite you to support me on this journey in any way possible, knowing that your support directly impacts Australians navigating the complexities of Lymphoma.
