STEPS for Lymphoma

I'm taking part in Steps for Lymphoma this March for myself

Lymphoma Australia is the only organisation in Australia dedicated and committed solely to patients and caregivers dealing with lymphoma and CLL.

This March, alongside a community of like-minded individuals, every step I take contributes to the collective steps for the Lymphoma goal, aiming to complete a loop around Australia. By doing so, we express solidarity with and provide support to Australians facing the challenges of living with Lymphoma.

The extensive journey along the Australian coastline spans a total of 30,400,000 steps. Each step I take this March brings us closer to achieving the overarching goal. I invite you to support me on this journey in any way possible, knowing that your support directly impacts Australians navigating the complexities of Lymphoma.

My story

Wednesday 28th Feb
I first received news of my diagnosis in September 2023 after find suspicious bumps and lumps along the left side of my face and neck with a bruised appearance. 
My journey has been a long ride from first finding out to finally starting treatment at the end of Feb 2024! 

I initially received the diagnosis of marginal zone lymphoma based off of a biopsy and some blood tests, however the results weren’t 100% conclusive and led my amazing doctors to investigate further with scans, more biopsies and further blood work. 
I then received the diagnosis of stage 4 Follicular lymphoma in September 2023. 

It has been an incredibly stressful and emotional time but with my amazingly supportive friends and family I am coping and persevering! 

I am participating in steps for lymphoma this year to raise and spread awareness about lymphoma and to help raise funds for the amazing support and work the nurses and team at lymphoma Australia provide me and others!
